More information about Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills - Henschke

Henschke's elegant Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills glows a bright light red in the glass. Tilting the glass a bit, a transition of color toward garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of the Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills flatters with nuances of blueberries, plums and damsons. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging like even more fruity balsamic nuances.

The Henschke Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine enthusiast. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully fleshy and dense. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of South Australia, which is capable of aging, finally impresses with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Henschke Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills

The balanced Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills from Australia is a single varietal wine, made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. In South Australia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills is aged for another 10 months in 1000 liter French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Giles Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills from Henschke

Enjoy this red wine from Australia ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes, roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
