More information
Held at a slight angle, a transition of the wine's color towards garnet red is visible at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you swirl the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. This Allegrini red wine reveals all kinds of lavender, roses, lilacs, lilies and violets to the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, the maturation in large wooden barrels adds cinnamon, gingerbread spice and oriental spices.
The Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico can be described as exceptionally fruity and velvety, as it was vinified with a pleasantly sweet taste profile. With its lively fruit acidity, Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this mature wine from the Veneto wine-growing region finally delights with its beautiful length. There are again hints of lily and lavender.
Vinification of the Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico from Allegrini
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico cuvée from Allegrini is Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Oseleta and Rondinella grapes. The Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the grapes for this wine made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Oseleta and Rondinella is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Veneto, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Giovanni Allegrini Recioto de Valpolicella Classico is matured in French oak barrels for a further 16 months.
