More information
From the Spanish wine region of Valencia comes the varietal Gloria Monastrell from Bodega De Moya. The winemaker Yves Laurijssens dedicates each red wine to a woman from his family. Who Gloria is, however, remains Yves' secret at the moment.
In a dense cherry red with ruby highlights, this wine shines in the glass. The powerful bouquet is characterized by the aromas typical of the grape variety. Ripe blackberry and currant blend with notes of rhubarb and toasty aromas. The fresh acidity is perfectly integrated and harmonizes wonderfully with the elegant tannin structure. The finish of this Spanish red wine delights with its pleasant length and presence.
Vinification of the Gloria Monastrell De Moya
The grapes for this red wine come from 40-year-old vines in the Vall d'Albaida region. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and harvested in 15 kg boxes.
Once the grapes arrive at the winery of De Moya, they are cooled for 24 hours at 4 degrees Celsius. The must is then fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation and maceration of 20 to 25 days, this red wine is aged in wood for 12 months. Both barriques (225 l) and large wooden barrels (1000 l) of French oak are used for this purpose.
Food recommendation for the Bodega De Moya Gloria Monastrell
This dry red wine from Spain to dishes is a great companion to cozy barbecues with family and friends. But also to the Asian cuisine and the Italian classics, such as pizza and pasta, this wine is a real pleasure.
Awards for the Monastrell Gloria from De Moya
