Gonzales Byass - Finest Andalusian Sherry
Gonzáles Byass is one of the very large Sherry houses in Jerez de la Frontera (hence the name Sherry, derived from the Arabic Sherish for Jerez). It was founded in 1835 by Manuel María González during the great Sherry boom. Although it was originally conceived as a pure trading company, it did not take a decade for González to produce his own wines. The estate soon became so successful that in 1855 González turned his British sales representative Robert Blake Byass into his business partner, thus laying the foundation for what is now the world's largest sherry producer, González Byass.
Palomino and Pedro Ximénez - The typical Sherry grapes
Gonzáles Byass owns vineyards in the best areas of Jerez (also Jerez Superior) where the classic sherry varieties Palomino and Pedro Ximénez grow. Together with the legacy of 170 years of winegrowing experience and an outstanding winery and winemaking team, the name González Byass is a guarantee for the finest sherry quality all over the world.
