The Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Gottschelle DAC from Weingut Stift Göttweig in Lower Austria presents a brilliant, platinum yellow color in the swirled glass. When the wine glass is swirled, this white wine is characterized by an immense lightness that makes it dance lively in the glass. This single varietal Austrian wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of apples, papayas, physalis and nashi pear in the glass. These are joined by hints of cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa bean.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 1 gram of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Austrian enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Gottschelle DAC flatters with a soft mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Kremstal, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by loess soil.
Vinification of the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Gottschelle DAC from Weingut Stift Göttweig
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Grüner Veltliner. For this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Weingut Stift Göttweig, only impeccable vintage material was brought in. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
