Gran Muruve Reserva Toro DO 2015 - Bodegas Frutos Villar
The barrel-aged Gran Muruve Reserva Toro from the wine-growing region of Castilla y León presents a dense ruby red colour in the glass. Slightly slanted, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red tone at the edges. To the nose, this Bodegas Frutos Villar red wine reveals all manner of dried plums, raisins and dried fruit. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as beech smoke and firewood.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 1.6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. This powerful red wine presents itself full of pressure and facets on the palate. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Gran Muruve Reserva Toro flatters the palate with a soft feeling without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region Castile - León finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of dried fruit and prunes.
Vinification of the Gran Muruve Reserva Toro from Bodegas Frutos Villar
The basis for the powerful Gran Muruve Reserva Toro from Castile - León are grapes from the Tempranillo grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the Gran Muruve Reserva Toro is aged for another 12 months in American oak barriques.
