Gran Predicat Priorat from the pen of Cellers Grifoll Declara from Catalonia reveals a dense purple color in the wine glass. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which shows in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Cellers Grifoll Declara shows aromas of blueberries, black cherries, black currants, plums and blackberries, complemented by vanilla, cinnamon and dark chocolate. On the palate, Cellers Grifoll Declara's Gran Predicat Priorat starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. In the finish, this well storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of black cherry and mulberry show.
Vinification of the Gran Predicat Priorat by Cellers Grifoll Declara
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from Carignan, Garnacha and Merlot grapes. Gran Predicat Priorat is an Old World wine through and through, as this Spaniard breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately enter the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Gran Predicat Priorat is aged for several months in oak barrels.
