More information about Gran Sasso Sangiovese - Farnese Vini

The grapes for the Gran Sasso Sangiovese from Farnese Vini grow in the Italian wine-growing region IGT Terre di Chieti in Abruzzo. This red wine impresses with its uncomplicated, harmonious personality that is typical of the grape variety.

In the glass, this wine shimmers a rich dark red with violet highlights. The intense bouquet reveals strong aromas of dark fruits - particularly black cherries, blackberries and plums - subtly underpinned by nuances of sweet wood. On the palate, this Italian red wine has a medium body with a soft structure. The finish is wonderfully pleasant and delicately fruity.

Vinification of the Farnese Vini Sangiovese Gran Sasso

The Sangiovese grapes for this red wine are harvested by hand and immediately taken to the Farnese Vini wine cellar. There, the grapes are first destemmed and cold macerated for 2 to 3 days. Fermentation then begins in stainless steel tanks for 13 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, this wine matures in both stainless steel tanks and American oak barrels for 4 to 6 months.

Wine pairing recommendation for the Sangiovese Gran Sasso Farnese

Enjoy this dry red wine from Italy with rich starters, such as antipasti or tapas. But this wine is also a delight with grilled meat.
