Heritage 1189 Pic Saint Loup 2018 - Gérard Bertrand
The Heritage 1189 Pic Saint Loup by Gérard Bertrand reveals itself in the glass in a deep dark ruby to garnet red and unfolds its elegant and fruity-spicy bouquet. This is characterized by the aromas of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, raspberries and plums. These fruit notes are underlined by licorice, black olives and a hint of cherry brandy.
On the palate, this red wine convinces with its wonderful mineral freshness on the palate and its fine, elegant tannins. A full-bodied Cuvée, which is excellently structured with fine nuances of smoke and spices in a long finale.
Vinification for the Gérard Bertrand Pic Saint Loup
This cuvée is vinified 40% each from Syrah and Mourvèdre and 20% from Grenache.
The grapes are harvested at the optimal maturity date and selected twice: once in the vineyard and in the winery. The grapes are then destemmed and macerated over a period of 3-4 weeks. The must is pressed before the malolactic fermentation begins and then the Pic Saint Loup is aged for 9 months in oak barrels.
