More information
The elegant Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum of Dourdon Vieillard splashes into the glass with bright light red. The perlage of this sparkling wine shimmers in the glass incredibly fine, elegant and long-lasting. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive an unprecedented balance in this sparkling wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. To the nose, this Dourdon Vieillard sparkling wine presents all sorts of pears, oranges and lemons. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as almond and lime are added by the expansion in stainless steel.
On the palate, the texture of this balanced sparkling wine presents itself wonderfully light, crisp and creamy. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Champagne finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of pear and orange. In the reverberation, mineral notes of the limestone and clay dominated soils join.
Vinification of the Dourdon Vieillard Grande Réserve Brut 1,5 l Magnum
The balanced Grande Réserve Brut 1,5 l Magnum from France is a cuvée, pressed from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. In Champagne, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. Without question, the Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum is also determined by the climate and viticultural style of Champagne. This French can literally be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself exceptionally distinguished and complex. The maturity of the vintage for this wine of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Champagne, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. Following the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and gently pressed. The fermentation of the base wines follows. After the assemblage of the champagne follows further aging based on the Méthode Traditionelle. It follows a bottle storage for 6 months.
