Grauburgunder trocken 2019 - Schwedhelm Zellertal

With the Schwedhelm Grauburgunder, a first-class white wine comes into the glass. In this it shows a wonderfully brilliant, copper-golden colour. This varietal German wine reveals in the glass wonderfully expressive notes of pear, apple, quince and Nashi pear. Added to this are hints of roasted almond, whole nut chocolate and walnut.

This wine inspires with its elegant dry taste. It was bottled with only 6.7 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance in spite of all dryness. Taste does not necessarily need much residual sugar. On the palate the texture of this light-footed white wine presents itself wonderfully light and crisp. With its concise fruit acidity, the Grauburgunder reveals itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the Palatinate wine growing region finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of Nashi pear and quince. In the aftertaste mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay are added.

Vinification of the Grauburgunder from the Schwedhelm Winery

The elegant Grauburgunder from Germany is a pure wine, produced from the grape variety Grauburgunder. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Grauburgunder are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Grauburgunder can continue to harmonize on the fine yeast for 4 months.

Food recommendation for the Grauburgunder from Schwedhelm Winery

Drink this white wine from Germany best well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompanying wine to fruity endive salad, cabbage roulades or noodles with fried sausage dumplings.
