The Grauburgunder from Klumpp caresses the nose with the aromas of herbs, sweet apple and a hint of nut.
On the palate, this white wine presents tightly with a wonderfully integrated sweet fruit acidity and minerality. Fine juicy and animating, this wine ends in a long finish.
Vinification for the Klumpp Pinot Gris
The vines for this magnificent Pinot Gris grow on a high plateau with clay soils in southern exposure. The grapes develop thanks to a low-held foliage small berries with ripe fruit flavors and good structure. To emphasize the complexity and creaminess, the wine remains 3 months on the lees with repeated stirring. About 25 - 30% of this wine is aged in oak barrels.
The Weingut Klumpp relies on the cultivation of its vineyards on a biodynamic cultivation. This means that the energy of the soil is the center of attention. All work in the vineyard is controlled by a calendar based only on the moon and the sun.
