The light-footed Grillo Sicilia from Cantine Settesoli comes into the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from Sicily seduces with aromas of orange, pink grapefruit, kumquat and lime. If we trace the aromas further, forest floor and sun-warmed stone are added.

This dry white wine from Cantine Settesoli is for purists who like it absolutely dry. The Grillo Sicilia comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 1.9 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light and crisp. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, Grillo Sicilia is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily, Sicilia DOC to be precise, is convincing with a good aftertaste.

Vinification of the Cantine Settesoli Grillo Sicilia

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Grillo. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Cantine Settesoli. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Grillo Sicilia are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

This Italian wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to fruity endive salad, pasta with sausage dumplings or cabbage roulades.
