The finale of this excellent ripening dessert wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from the Weinviertel, finally thrills with exceptional reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and loess.
Vinification of the Grüner Veltliner Eiswein by Weinrieder
The basis for the elegant Grüner Veltliner Eiswein from Lower Austria are grapes from the grape variety Grüner Veltliner. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam and loess. The fact that the Grüner Veltliner grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the ripening of the grapes. This results, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
Food recommendation for the Grüner Veltliner Eiswein from Weinrieder
This Austrian dessert wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to baked apples with yogurt sauce, elderflower yogurt ice cream with lemon balm or coconut kefir cream.
