More information
The Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg from the pen of Johann Topf from Lower Austria reveals a bright, platinum yellow color in the wine glass. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like manner. This single varietal Austrian wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of peaches, apricots, mirabelles and vineyard peaches in the glass. These are joined by hints of forest floor, vanilla and gingerbread spice.
The Johann Topf Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This white wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine icon wine segment. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and crisp texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg presents itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Kamptal, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the slate-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg by Johann Topf
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Grüner Veltliner. Only premium grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced single varietal wine from Johann Topf. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate. Of course, the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg is also determined by climate and viticultural style Kamptal. This Austrian can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive swiftly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Gaisberg is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for 10 months.
