The elegant Grüner Veltliner Reserve Offenberg from Johann Topf glides into the glass with a bright platinum yellow color. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like manner. In the glass, this white wine from Johann Topf presents aromas of vineyard peach, nectarines, peaches, apricots and mirabelles, complemented by cinnamon, oriental spices and cocoa bean. This Austrian wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 2.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine icon wine segment, this Austrian naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp and dense. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Offenberg presents itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of nectarine and apricot appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and slate join in.
Vinification of the Grüner Veltliner Reserve Offenberg by Johann Topf
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Grüner Veltliner. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Johann Topf, only the best grapes were brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate and loess. The Grüner Veltliner Reserve Offenberg is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately arrive at the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
