The Baer cycles around the world
Originating from the coat of arms of the German capital Berlin, the Baer is probably one of the most famous landmarks in Germany, if not one of the most famous. Starting in his home town of Berlin, the Hans Baer cycles around the world on his cool bike. In his luggage he has selected wines from Rheinhessen.
Rheinhessen diversity
The largest of Germany's wine-growing regions, Rheinhessen, with 26,578 hectares of vineyards, is known for its diversity - not only in terms of grape varieties, but also in the structure of its small and large wineries. Rheinhessen is probably one of the most dynamic areas in Germany. This is where the Hechtsheim winery is located; it carefully vinifies the wines for Hans Bear. A modern young generation of winemakers is relying on tradition, yet freeing itself from old constraints and transforming Rheinhessen into a modern and diverse region, on its way to a fascinating future of viticulture. Just as wild and young, yet traditional and historically rooted, as the capital city of Berlin - home of the Baer.
