More information about Hawequas Wellington - Mont du Toit

With the Mont du Toit Hawequas Wellington WO comes a first-class red wine in the swirled glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully dense crimson color. Tilting the glass a bit, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swiveling the glass, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in distinct church windows at the rim of the glass. To the nose, this Mont du Toit red wine reveals all manner of black currants, blueberries, blackberries and mulberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in small wooden barrels adds other aromas such as black tea, oriental spices and cocoa bean.

This dry red wine from Mont du Toit is just right for wine lovers who like their wine dry. On the palate, the texture of this punchy red wine is wonderfully fleshy and dense. In the finish, this storable red wine from the Coastal Region winegrowing region finally thrills with beautiful length. Once again, hints of blackberry and mulberry show through.
