With the winery Claus Preisinger Heideboden comes a first-class organic red wine in the glass. In this it presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it stands out on the walls of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. The bouquet of this red wine from Burgenland captivates with aromas of blueberry, black currant, blackberry and mulberry. If we trace the aromatics further, forest floor, Mediterranean herbs and green peppers come into play.
The wine estate Claus Preisinger Heideboden presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine premium and site wine segment. Due to the balanced fruit acid, the Heideboden flatters the palate with a soft feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region the Burgenland, more precisely from Lake Neusiedl, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by gravel and clay.
Vinification of the winery Claus Preisinger Heideboden
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Cuvée Heideboden from Weingut Claus Preisinger are Blaufränkisch, Merlot and Zweigelt grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgenland. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay, gravel, volcanic rock and black earth. Obviously, the heath soil is also determined by the climate and viticultural style of Lake Neusiedl. This Austrian can literally be called an Old World wine, which presents itself as exceptionally complex. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Heideboden are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully milled. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Heideboden can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 14 months....
