In the glass, this white wine from Weingut Kiefer presents aromas of papaya, star fruit, mango, guava and gooseberry, complemented by lovage, juniper and beech smoke. The Weingut Kiefer Herrenbuck Innovation Sauvignon Blanc presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Due to its concise fruit acid, the Herrenbuck Innovation Sauvignon Blanc is impressively fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of the Weingut Kiefer Herrenbuck Innovation Sauvignon Blanc

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Sauvignon Blanc. Only the best grapes were brought in for this exceptionally balanced single varietal wine from Weingut Kiefer. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone, loess soil and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation of 3 months in oak barriques.

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to asparagus salad with quinoa, coconut-lime fish curry or roasted trout with ginger pear.
