More information about I Tratturi Primitivo - Cantine San Marzano
The I Tratturi Primitivo from Cantine San Marzano is an uncomplicated, single-varietal red wine from the Italian wine-growing region of Apulia.
In the glass, this wine appears a full ruby red with violet highlights. Fruity aromas unfold on the nose, with black cherries, plums and ripe plums coming to mind first. Nuances of vanilla and rosemary complement this. On the palate, this Italian red wine flatters with dominant fruit, complemented by Mediterranean herbs and sweet spices. A full body and soft tannins make for an absolutely drinkable and palatable impression that lingers long into the finish.
Vinification of the Cantine San Marzano I Tratturi Primitivo
The Cantine San Marzano belongs to a cooperative of around 1,500 winegrowers who have made a huge contribution to the economic upturn of the Apulia wine region. Various grape varieties have been cultivated for more than 3,000 years. The team at Cantine San Marzano, led by Mauro di Maggio, benefits from the diversity of local varieties and excels with both single-varietal and cuvetted products. Unique soil conditions reduce the harvest in a natural way and intensify the quality of the wines. The warm Scirocco and the high level of sunlight make it difficult for fungi and insects and thus enable low-pesticide cultivation. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks under strict temperature controls and rolling fermentation tanks allow this wine to mature.
