The Il Pino di Biserno Toscana from Tenuta di Biserno in Tuscany shows a dense, ruby red color in the glass. Swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, Il Pino di Biserno Toscana is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region finally delights with its exceptional length. Once again, there are hints of blueberry and black cherry. In the finish, mineral notes from the loess and sand-dominated soil are added.
Vinification of Il Pino di Biserno Toscana from Tenuta di Biserno
The basis for the powerful Il Pino di Biserno Toscana from Tuscany are grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and loess. Il Pino di Biserno Toscana is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a considerable influence on the ripening of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Il Pino di Biserno Toscana are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
