Intriga Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 - Vina Montgras
The Intriga Cabernet Sauvignon from Vina Montgras is the top wine of the estate and impresses with its deep red colour even in the glass. And the bouguet also inspires with ripe plums and black currants. On the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile presents itself splendidly with nuances of plum jam, cassis together with fresh mint, spicy mocha and sweet chocolate.
The Maipo Valley is the cradle of Chilean viticulture. As early as 1865, the winegrower Alejandro Reyes discovered that this is the purest winegrower's paradise. He brought the finest European wines to the New World and produced sensational wines. Today, these vineyards have been rediscovered and are considered the starting point of Chile's ascent to the world wine elite.
The new owners, Viña Montgras, have reserved the old vineyards for a very special wine: A wine that defines the quintessence of viticulture in the Miapo Valley - the Intriga. This strictly limited, sublime red wine matured for more than 15 months in barriques and was enthusiastic from the very beginning, so this vintage won the gold medal at the Challenge International du Vin.
Food recommendation for the Intriga of Vina Montgras
We recommend this top Chilean wine for special meals with meat dishes. But the Intriga is also a suitable companion for cheese.
