In the glass, the Intruso Rueda Verdejo from the pen of Juan Gil offers a bright pale yellow color. This single varietal Spanish wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of gallia melon, apple, guava and star fruit. These are joined by hints of forest floor and sun-warmed rock.
This dry white wine from Juan Gil is just right for wine lovers who would prefer 0.0 grams of residual sugar in their wine. The Intruso Rueda Verdejo already comes quite close to this, as it was vinified with just 5.8 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Intruso Rueda Verdejo reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this storable white wine from the wine-growing region of Castile - León finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of papaya and star fruit. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the sand-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of the Juan Gil Intruso Rueda Verdejo
The basis for the balanced Intruso Rueda Verdejo from Castile - León are grapes from the grape variety Verdejo. In Castile - Leon, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand. After the manual harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery in the fastest way. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Intruso Rueda Verdejo can harmonize further for a few months on the fine lees.
