More information

The barrel-aged J Spätburgunder from the wine-growing region of the Ahr offers itself in the glass in brilliantly shimmering light red. Swiveling the glass, this red wine is characterized by a fascinating brilliance that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. This single varietal German wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, blueberries, black currants and mulberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of black tea, vanilla and cocoa bean.

The Jean Stodden J Pinot Noir presents itself wonderfully dry to the connoisseur. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a premium and site wine segment. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its present fruit acidity, the J Pinot Noir is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Ahr finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of mulberry and black currant appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay are added.

Vinification of the Jean Stodden J Pinot Noir

The basis for the elegant J Spätburgunder from the Ahr are grapes from the grape variety Spätburgunder. In the Ahr, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and sand. Moreover, the grapes of this red wine of Jean Stodden do not grow in the flat land, but dig their root system into the soil in steep slopes. The steep slope cultivation ensures that even in cooler wine-growing regions with shorter growing seasons, the vines receive a maximum of sun. Obviously, J Spätburgunder is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Rech. This German wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. The fact that the Spätburgunder grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has an influence on the ripening of the grapes that cannot be dismissed. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this red wine from Germany are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the J Pinot Noir can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 17 months....

Food recommendation for the Jean Stodden J Spätburgunder

Enjoy this red wine from Germany best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, cabbage roulades or chickpea curry.
