Jean-Baptiste Audy a history of Bordeaux
In 1906, Jean-Baptiste Audy founded his trading company in Libourne on the Dordogne, on the Quai du Priourat, even then this area was famous for its merchants. They were already distributing all the great wines of the Bordeaux region, with an obvious preference for the Right Bank, particularly Pomerol. The family then became involved in a wide variety of vineyards, Clos du Clocher, Courlat, Clinet, Bonalgue, La Cabanne to mention but a few. Another milestone for the company around Jean-Baptiste AUDY was the entry into the circle of the great merchants of the Place de Bordeaux, known for the quality of its export services and its special connection with the wine region and its people.
From 1991 to 2002, Pierre Bourotte, grandson of Jean-Baptiste Audy, managed the company. In 2003, his son Jean-Baptiste joined him. An HEC graduate, he worked for many years for the jeweler Cartier in South America and in Europe. Surrounded by a team with great know-how, he is now developing the trading house and the family wineries.
