Grillenhügel Pinot Noir 2017 - Johanneshof Reinisch

If the wine glass is swivelled, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the cricket hill Pinot Noir reveals blackberries, blackcurrants and mulberries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing, as well as more fruity-balsamic nuances.

This red wine from Johanneshof Reinisch is just the thing for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as is appropriate for a wine of this reputation. On the tongue, this powerful white wine is characterised by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its moderate fruit acidity, the cricket hill Pinot Noir flatters with a velvety mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The finale of this well-ageing white wine from the wine growing region of Lower Austria, or more precisely from the Thermenregion, finally captivates with its extraordinary aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by brown earth and limestone.

Vinification of the cricket hill Pinot Noir by Johanneshof Reinisch

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. Only immaculate grapes were used to produce this exceptionally powerful, pure wine from Johanneshof Reinisch. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, limestone and brown earth. Of course, the cricket hill Pinot Noir is also determined by more than just the soil of the Thermenregion. This Austrian can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which is extraordinarily impressive. After the manual harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation of 14 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Pinot Noir cricket hill by Johanneshof Reinisch

Experience this white wine from Austria ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to vegetable pot with pesto, leek tortilla or stuffed peppers.
