More information
The first nose of Rotgipfler flatters with nuances of gallia melon, star fruit and papaya. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.
This dry white wine from Johanneshof Reinisch is for wine lovers who like it absolutely dry. The Rotgipfler already comes very close to this, it was pressed with just 1.8 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly creamy texture. The balanced fruit acidity flatters the Rotgipfler with a velvety mouthfeel, without at the same time lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this ripening white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Thermenregion, finally captivates with beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay.
Vinification of the Rotgipfler from Johanneshof Reinisch
The basis for the balanced Rotgipfler from Lower Austria are grapes from the grape variety Rotgipfler, which is grown only in the region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and limestone. After the manual harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Rotgipfler is left to mature on its fine lees for a few months.
