The first nose of the Rotgipfler flatters with nuances of Gallia melon, star fruit and papaya. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
This dry white wine from Johanneshof Reinisch is for wine lovers who like it absolutely dry. The Rotgipfler already comes very close to this, having been pressed with just 1.8 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an exceptionally creamy texture. With its balanced fruit acidity, the Rotgipfler flatters with a velvety mouthfeel, without sacrificing its juicy liveliness. The finale of this mature white wine from the Lower Austrian wine growing region, or more precisely from the Thermenregion, finally captivates with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay.
Vinification of the Rotgipfler from Johanneshof Reinisch
The basis for the balanced Rotgipfler from Lower Austria are grapes from the Rotgipfler grape variety, which is only cultivated in the region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and limestone. After the manual harvest, the grapes are immediately transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Rotgipfler can continue to harmonise on the fine yeast for a few months.
