Der Kaapzicht Pinotage von Kaapzicht präsentiert sich in tiefer, purpurroter Farbe mit dichten Kern. Im Bouquet sind Aromen reifer, wilde Früchte wie Pflaume, Maulbeere, Brombeere und Schwarzkirsche wahrzunehmen, die von getoastetem Zedernholz und Vanille komplettiert werden. Am Gaumen wirkt er zunächst rassig mit einem Kern aus roten Früchten und reifen, festen Tanninen. Der komplexe, opulente Geschmack erinnert an Sauerkirsche und gut integrierte feinwürzige, süßlich-exotische Vanillenoten der Fasslagerung. Er besitzt einen schmackhafte Länge im Abgang.
Wir empfehlen ihn zu gegrilltem Fleisch (Straußensteak, Springbockfilet, Lamm, Pfeffersteak), Wildschwein oder pikanter Käseplatte.
