The Katlenburg winery was founded in 1925 and is still family-owned. Produced are fruit wines, honey wines and exciting fruit wine mixed drinks.
Katlenburger Kellerei - the market leader for fruit wines
It was probably a stroke of luck rather than an accident that the apple juice fermented in the wooden barrels and unceremoniously became apple sparkling wine. It has now been fermenting in Katlenburg in Lower Saxony since 1925. Not only apples, but also cherries, strawberries, oranges and numerous domestic and exotic fruits are turned into delicious fruit wines in today's state-of-the-art winery. At Katlenburger, everything is taken from the fruit - and created to go with it:
- Fruit wines
- Fruit wine spritzer
- Punch
- Cocktails
- Honey wine
- Secco
- Cider
- Mulled wine
Katlenburg punch, fruit wines and mulled wine
Are you looking for light and fruity drinking pleasure? How about spring in the form of a May punch, for example? Or bring the beach into your home with the Tropica cocktails. Maybe you'll enjoy a classic honey wine? Whether a Bowle To Go, sparkling Seccos of every color or ready-to-heat mulled wines for the cold season - Katlenburger has the right drink for every celebration. This is also attested by the German Agricultural Society, which has awarded the winery top marks for decades. Katlenburger has even been awarded the highest accolade - the Federal Gold Award - several times.
From the history of the largest fruit wine cellar in Europe
Clever moves and investments were what made Katlenburger Winery the European market leader. Initially, it was the popular apple sparkling wine with which founder Dr. Willy Demuth enjoyed great success. He quickly expanded the fruit portfolio for the production of fruit wines. Only from the grape Katlenburger keeps distance until today. Willy's wife Marie Demuth was no less capable. The doctor developed the Catlenburger Clostertrunk, a natural remedy based on the hawthorn berry. The Catlenburger Clostertrunk became known throughout the country.
Even after the war, Catlenburger was able to hold its own. The popular fruit wines were quickly regarded as sought-after means of exchange and made the headquarters a meeting place for the local population. From 1960, technical innovations were the focus of the company. With the modernized operation, the bottling capacity grew and, moreover, so did the quality. From then on, the fruit wine fermented in hygienic stainless steel containers instead of wooden barrels. The product range also underwent a refreshing expansion: cocktails. To this day, the Katlenburger Winery continues to develop new creations from fresh fruit juices, so that there is something for every taste.
For four generations, Katlenburger has now been processing the best juices from domestic and exotic fruits as well as pure bee honey. The result is a wide variety of wonderful drinks of the highest quality. The products are awarded top marks annually by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), and in their product segments Katlenburger is one of the most popular and best-known brands in Germany, often as market leader. The products are also already very popular internationally, from Austria to Australia to Japan.
