More information
In the glass, Meinhardt Hube's KISL Sauvignon Blanc presents a bright pale yellow color. This wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the core. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. This single varietal Austrian wine shows wonderfully complex notes of gooseberries, elderberries and grapefruits in the glass. These are joined by hints of mineral.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Austrian naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Styria, which can be stored well, finally delights with good length. Again, hints of gooseberry and elderberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by gravel and clay join in.
Vinification of the Meinhardt Hube KISL Sauvignon Blanc
This balanced white wine from Austria is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. In Styria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and gravel. Clearly, KISL Sauvignon Blanc is also defined by more than just the soil of southern Styria. This Austrian can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine that presents itself as exceptionally complex. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant KISL Sauvignon Blanc is aged for several months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Meinhardt Hube KISL Sauvignon Blanc
This Austrian white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to veal and onion casserole, pasta with sausage dumplings or cabbage roulades.
