The wines of the Konrad Wines winery

Korad Wines is owned by the Hengstler family: Sigrun and Konrad Hengstler as well as their sons Conrad and Carlo. The family emigrated from Germany to Melbourne in Australia and stayed there for 20 years. Konrad Hengstler travelled to New Zealand and discovered the Marlborough region and its Sauvignon Blanc. The decision to relocate came quickly. In 1996, the first vines were planted and the vineyards in the Weirau and Waihopai valleys were the first ones to be harvested. The winery cultivates about 40 hectares. In addition to Sauvignon blanc, Riesling and Gewurztraminer are also cultivated.
