In the glass, the organically produced Kritt Gewürztraminer from Domaine Gresser shows a dense copper-gold color. The color of this white wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the center. To the nose, this Domaine Gresser white wine presents all sorts of grapefruits and roses. As if that wasn't already impressive, the stainless steel aging adds boxwood to the mix.
The organically produced Domaine Gresser Kritt Gewürztraminer presents us with an incredibly fruity taste on the palate, due in no small part to its residual sweet profile. On the tongue, this punchy white wine is characterized by an incredibly creamy texture. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Kritt Gewürztraminer flatters the palate with a pleasing feel, without lacking freshness. Finally, on the finish, this mature wine from the Alsace wine-growing region delights with good length. There are again hints of rose and grapefruit. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the gravel-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Domaine Gresser Kritt Gewürztraminer
The basis for the powerful Kritt Gewürztraminer from France are grapes from the Gewürztraminer grape variety. In Alsace, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. The grapes for this white wine from France, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Kritt Gewürztraminer is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
