The light-footed La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna from Sella & Mosca shimmers a brilliant light yellow in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from Italy presents wonderfully expressive aromas of gooseberry, physalis, white currant and pineapple, rounded off by other fruity nuances.
On the palate, La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna from Sella & Mosca starts off wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Sardinia, more precisely from Alghero DOC, is convincing with a good aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the soils dominated by slate and granite.
Vinification of the Sella & Mosca La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna
The basis for the elegant La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna from Sardinia is grapes from the Vermentino grape variety. In Sardinia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate and granite soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
