More information about La Chapelle Hermitage Rouge - Paul Jaboulet Aîné

The La Chapelle Hermitage Rouge from Domaine Paul Jaboulet is a varietal Syrah and typically shows in the glass in a shiny ruby red. The intense and complex aroma of the red wine from the northern Rhône Valley convinces with aromas of black fruits, sweet spices and fine wood tones. The palate is dense, full-bodied and is decidedly velvety, due to its soft tannin structure. The limited La Chapelle pleases with its extensive finish.

Vinification of the La Chapelle Hermitage Rouge

Syrah grown with extremely reduced yields in Paul Jaboulet Aînés Hermitage parcels is harvested in October and lowered down the slopes of the mountain in small sleds. The grapes are carefully hand-sorted in the winery, vinified separately by parcel, and the wines are aged in wooden barrels for about 15 to 18 months in the millennial tuns of the VINEUM aging cellar. During the aging period, the wines are taken off the lees and the final La Chapelle cuvée is assembled, a harmonious composition of the different Hermitage terroirs.

Food recommendation for the French Syrah from Domaine Paul Jaboule

A noble wine for noble dishes. We recommend it with Tournedos Rossini, braised sweetbreads with morels or roasted pigeon with porcini mushrooms.
