More information about La Grola Veronese IGT - Allegrini

Swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is reflected in strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The nose of this Allegrini red wine reveals all kinds of plums, black cherries, blueberries, damsons and blackcurrants. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as smoked meat, beech smoke and black bread.

This dry red wine from Allegrini is ideal for wine drinkers who like their wine dry. La Grola Veronese comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 2.5 grams of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, La Grola Veronese is pleasing to the palate without lacking freshness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region impresses with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of La Grola Veronese by Allegrini

The basis for the powerful La Grola Veronese from Veneto are grapes from the Corvina Veronese and Oseleta grape varieties. La Grola Veronese is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Corvina Veronese and Oseleta grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has a major influence on the development of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in French oak barrels. Ageing in oak barrels is followed by considerable bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Dining recommendations for La Grola Veronese from Allegrini

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to ossobuco, roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger-red cabbage and marjoram.
