The La Vitoriana from Raúl Pérez from Castile - León reveals a bright, purple-red color in the glass. The nose of this Raúl Pérez red wine reveals all kinds of blackberries and ripe apple. As if that wasn't already impressive, further aromas such as toasted wood, licorice and Brazil nut are added due to the ageing in small wooden barrels.
The La Vitoriana from Raúl Pérez is ideal for all wine connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never austere or brittle, as you would naturally expect from a wine. This dense and fleshy red wine is balanced and complex on the palate. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, La Vitoriana is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Castile - León wine-growing region, more precisely from Bierzo DO, is convincing with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of Raúl Pérez La Vitoriana
The basis for the well-balanced La Vitoriana from Castile - León are grapes from the Mencia grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Castile - León. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay soils. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the elegant La Vitoriana is aged for 12 months in French oak barriques.
