More information
The elegant Lacoste Borie Pauillac from the pen of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste shines purple into the glass. At the edge, this French red also shows a transition into garnet red. The nose of this red wine from Bordeaux captivates with nuances of black currant, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry. If we trace the aromatics further, cocoa bean, dark chocolate and gingerbread spice are added.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities, and so this Frenchman naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. In the finish, this well storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and mulberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the gravel-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Lacoste Borie Pauillac from Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste
The balanced Lacoste Borie Pauillac from France is a cuvée, pressed from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Lacoste Borie Pauillac are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Lacoste Borie Pauillac is aged for 14 months in barriques, some of which are made of new wood.
