The Lagrein Kretzer from the wine-growing region of Trentino-Alto Adige shows in the glass in bright purple. This varietal Italian wine flatters in the glass wonderfully distinguished notes of strawberries. In addition, hints of other fruits.
On the palate, the Lagrein Kretzer of Petruskellerei opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly bulky texture. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Trentino-Alto Adige finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of strawberry. In the finish, mineral notes of the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Petruskellerei Lagrein Kretzer
The basis for the balanced Lagrein Kretzer from Italy are grapes from the Lagrein grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay. The grapes for this red wine from Italy, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the grapes are harvested, they are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
