On the palate, the Lagrein Riserva of Petruskellerei opens wonderfully aromatic, fruity and balanced. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly bulky texture. On the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Trentino-Alto Adige finally delights with considerable length. There are again hints of plum. In the finish, mineral notes of the sand-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Petruskellerei Lagrein Riserva
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Lagrein. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Petruskellerei. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of sand. Once the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Lagrein Riserva are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the elegant Lagrein Riserva is aged for another 12 months in oak barrels.
