More information

In the glass, Le Pavillon Ermitage from the house of M. Chapoutier reveals a dense purple color. Tilting the glass a bit, a transition of color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. In the glass, this red wine from M. Chapoutier presents aromas of blackberries, black currants, blueberries and mulberries, complemented by forest floor and sun-warmed rocks. This French wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 1.5 grams of residual sugar. As expected from a wine of this reputation, this French wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety. Due to its vital fruit acidity, Le Pavillon Ermitage presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley, more precisely from Hermitage, finally convinces with exceptional reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by granite.

Vinification of the M. Chapoutier Le Pavillon Ermitage

The powerful Le Pavillon Ermitage from France is a single varietal wine made from the Syrah grape variety. In the Rhône Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of granite. The grapes for this red wine from France, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 20 months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for M. Chapoutier Le Pavillon Ermitage

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, lemon chili chicken with bulgur, or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
