More information about Les Collines Rasteau AOP - Domaine de Galuval

In the glass, Les Collines Rasteau from Domaine de Galuval shows a dense purple color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Domaine de Galuval red wine shows all sorts of black currants. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in small wooden barrels adds other aromas such as toasted wood and blueberry.

On the palate, Domaine de Galuval's Les Collines Rasteau opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely dense and velvety texture. The finale of this well-maturing red wine from the wine-growing region the Rhône Valley, more precisely from Rasteau, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by marl.

Vinification of the Domaine de Galuval Les Collines Rasteau

This powerful red wine from France is made from Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of marl. Les Collines Rasteau is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this red wine from France, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the powerful Les Collines Rasteau is aged for several months in quarter-piece barrels, 1000-liter casks and large oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Domaine de Galuval Les Collines Rasteau

Enjoy this red wine from France best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to Boeuf Bourguignon, pasta with sausage dumplings or roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
