More information about Les Mourres Gigondas AOP - Domaine Notre Dame des Pallieres

The Les Mourres Gigondas of Domaine Notre Dame des Pallieres from the Southern Rhône Valley reveals a dense purple color in the wine glass. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. This French cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of plums, morello cherries, black cherries and plums in the glass. These are joined by hints of gingerbread spice, cinnamon and garrigue.

The Les Mourres Gigondas from Domaine Notre Dame des Pallieres is just right for all wine connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never dry or brittle, as you would expect from a wine in this price range. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Les Mourres Gigondas flatters with a velvety feel on the palate, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. The final of this red wine finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of Les Mourres Gigondas from Domaine Notre Dame des Pallieres

The basis for this premium and wonderfully powerful cuvée is Garnacha, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. In the Southern Rhône Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. The grapes for this red wine from France, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand . After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in concrete and large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, Les Mourres Gigondas is aged for another 11 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Les Mourres Gigondas from Domaine Notre Dame des Pallieres

This red wine from France is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to Thai cucumber salad, rum casserole or veal and onion casserole.
