As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully melting and velvety. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Letargo Crianza flatters the palate with a soft feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of La Rioja, more precisely from the Rioja DOCa, finally convinces with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Letargo Crianza from Bodegas D. Mateos
This balanced red wine from Spain is cuvéed from Garnacha, Graciano and Tempranillo grape varieties. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Letargo Crianza are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Letargo Crianza is aged for another 12 months in oak barrels.
