The Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige is a first-class red wine. It offers a wonderfully dense, purple-red color. This Italian cuvée flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries and violets. There are also hints of chocolate, caramel and blackcurrant.
The Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with just 1.4 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige has a soft mouthfeel without lacking any juicy liveliness. The finish of this very mature red wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC, finally delights with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay and limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige from Cantina Tramin
The basis for the powerful Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige from Italy are grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay, limestone and gravel soils. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of strenuous and barely selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the powerful Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva Alto Adige is aged for a further 24 months in barriques and large French oak barrels. The ageing in barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.
