The first nose of Mamertino Bianco Catalina flatters with nuances of mirabelle plums, lemons and ripe apple. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Italian naturally enraptures with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully crisp. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of lemon and green apple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the clay-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of Mamertino Bianco Catalina from Tenuta Gatti
The basis for the powerful Mamertino Bianco Catalina from Sicily are grapes from the Grillo and Inzolia varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Sicily. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, Mamertino Bianco Catalina can continue to harmonize for several months on the fine lees.

This Italian is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to pumpkin casserole, omelet with salmon and fennel or chickpea curry.
