Mannara is the Sicilian word for "breeding" or "farm" and is also a common surname in southern Italy. The people who live here in Sicily are still very attached to their country. Many practise professions that demonstrate precisely this connection: besides traditional craftsmen and shepherds, there are also people here who cultivate wine and follow the work of their ancestors with this traditional profession. Tradition and closeness to nature - these are the values that Mannaras winemakers always have in mind when producing their products.
Mannara is now part of the MGM Mondo del Vino, an association founded in 1991 by the wine experts Alfeo Martini, Roger Gabb and Cristoph Mack. Their aim is to bring traditional wines to the market that meet consumers' needs. The wine cellar and production plant of MGM Mondo del Vino are located in Priocca, a small village in the heart of Piedmont. With a team of 14 oenologists and biologists, MGM supports its associated winegrowers throughout the year and can therefore rely on excellent grapes for the production of its wines every year.
