Perfectly balanced. Fine acidity and a lovely finish. Very drinkable. One of the best German white wines I've had.

More information

With the Martin Waßmer Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc a first-class white wine comes into the swirled glass. In this it shows a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from Baden delights with notes of gooseberry, grapefruit, pear and nashi pear. If we trace the aromatics further, Mediterranean herbs, lovage and green peppers come in.

On the palate, Martin Waßmer's Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc presents itself as fantastically fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of the Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc from Martin Waßmer

Basis for the balanced Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc from Baden are grapes from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Markgräflerland Sauvignon Blanc by Martin Waßmer

This German wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to pumpkin casserole, pasta with sausage dumplings or spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce.
