More information
The Markgräflerland Spätburgunder from Martin Waßmer of Baden presents a bright, light red color in the swirled glass. In the glass, this red wine from Martin Waßmer presents aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, plums, black cherries and morello cherries, complemented by oak, vanilla and toasted barrique.
This red from Martin Waßmer is just right for all wine enthusiasts who like as little sweetness in their wine as possible. At the same time, however, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Markgräflerland Spätburgunder flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking freshness.
Vinification of the Martin Waßmer Markgräflerland Spätburgunder
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Pinot Noir. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Martin Waßmer. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in controlled temperatures.
