Vinification of the Marqués de Riscal 150 Aniversario Rioja from Marqués de Riscal
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from the Tempranillo grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in La Rioja. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing for 68 months in French oak barrels. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by extensive ageing in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
